About the Paediatric Training Program
Our paediatric training program will see you work with children and their families/carers across various sites at Monash Health, all while learning the skills of a paediatric physiotherapist. This rotational Grade 1 position covers Monash Health Community, Victorian Paediatric Rehabilitation Service and acute services at Monash Children’s Hospital. Each rotation is of 8 months duration.
Monash Health Community: In the Child and Family Team you will provide a Physiotherapy service to children aged 0- 17 years and their families residing in the City of Greater Dandenong, City of Casey and Shire of Cardinia. This position works in an outreach model of care as well as at the community health centre or in other community venues and will see children and infants with mild to moderate developmental delay, gross motor issues or soft tissue and musculoskeletal injuries.
Victorian Paediatric Rehabilitation Service: In VPRS at Monash Health you will see a combination of inpatient and ambulatory clients who require time limited goal focused interdisciplinary rehabilitation. As a state-wide service you may also need to travel to other VPRS sites.
Monash Children’s Allied Health: At the Monash Children’s Hospital you will work with a broad range of patients and families across both inpatient wards and outpatient clinics.
About the Role
As a Grade 1 paediatric Physiotherapist at Monash Health you will collaborate with colleagues across the service to foster clinical excellence and consistency of practice. You will provide assessment and management of infants and children, within the hospital inpatient (including ICU) and community settings. This position rotates every 8 months across the 2 years and will commence in Community Health. You will be required to join the Monash Children’s Hospital weekend roster.
You will be required to participate in the weekend roster, after-hours on call and within hours Emergency Department rosters at Monash Health and be expected to work across sites within Monash Health as required.
What we’re looking for in you:
- A relevant physiotherapy qualification
- Current AHPRA registration
- Minimum 12 months physiotherapy clinical experience (this is not a new graduate position)
- Relevant post graduate qualification desirable

This role is classified as a Grade 1 Physiotherapist and is paid according to award rates with post graduate qualification allowance as applicable. Weekend shifts and will be paid according to award rates.

VPRS and Monash Children’s Allied Health are based at Monash Children’s Hospital in Clayton. Community Health spans various locations in the SE suburbs including Cranbourne, Pakenham and Springvale.
