About Support Services at Monash Health

Support Services forms one of the largest employee groups providing services throughout the clinical and non-clinical areas of Monash Health.

Food Services employees work primarily in the Food Services kitchen and deliver & collect meal trays and provide mid- meal food & beverage service to general medical, ICU and mental health wards, and to the Emergency Department. Food Services employees report to a designated Supervisor, the Supervisor will report to the Food Services Manager who in turn reports to the site Support Services Manager. 

About The Role

The role will provide a high quality, customer focused service to internal and external customers. Efficient communication and timely responses to requests for service are paramount for this position in achieving sustainable service delivery.

Having recently implemented our new Smart Pak food service production model, we are seeking enthusiastic customer service team members to work with us in delivering an exceptional patient meal experience.

About You

You have well-developed customer service and food handling skills in the healthcare, aged care or hospitality sector. You will have the proven capability to provide:

  • A friendly, courteous and professional greeting and support to all visitors/patients/employees
  • Compliance to relevant procedures and Occupational Health and Safety Requirements
  • Contribute to achieving ward based outcomes as part of the Support Services Team
  • Uphold and maintain patient confidentiality at all times
  • Compliance of Monash Health policy and procedures in line with the Food Safety Plan in daily operations

What you need:

  • Current Food Handlers Certificate – Level 1
  • Demonstrated experience (aligned to position description and the ‘About You’ section afore-mentioned)
  • a current Victorian Employee Working with Children’s Check
  • Australian working rights
