Position summary
An opportunity is now available for a Commissioning Manager to join our team, based from our Dandenong South, Victoria office. Day to day, this role will see you provide technical support, advice and mentoring on all testing and commissioning related matters during feasibility and estimating phases of project lifecycle. An element of this role will see you manage the creation of testing and commissioning sequence based on the scope of works, estimating the most efficient and safe approach to commission assets in line with scope and project requirements. You will be responsible for creation of all necessary documentation during feasibility or tendering stage of the project in order to increase Downer's winning rate in the market and demonstrating Downers technical expertise.

In addition, when required, Commissioning Manager effectively and efficiently controls the Pre-Commissioning and Commissioning of all primary and secondary electrical apparatus at site whilst ensuring compliance with contract requirements.


  • Minimum 10 years' experience as a Senior Protection & Control Tester essential
  • Advanced Diploma of Power Systems essential
  • Full VESI Training and Authorities (SFT, EAP) Compliance for field testing and commissioning
  • Demonstrated understanding of Secondary Electrical Design
  • Green Book and Blue Book
  • Satisfactory track record of leading teams to achieve required cost, quality and time schedules in the field
  • Ability to liaise diplomatically and effectively with senior management, client, sub-contractors and staff
  • Demonstrated commitment to, and knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety, Quality Management and Environmental principles
