About Child and Family Program
TheChild and Family Program including Healthy Mothers Healthy Babies (HMHB)is comprised of numerous disciplines that focus on assessment and Child and Family focused care. The program consists of Counsellors, Occupational Therapists , Speech Pathologists, Dieticians, Podiatrists,Psychologists, Physiotherapists, Community Development Workers and Family Support Workers. The team is committed to working with communities, families and individuals who have poor health outcomes and to providing high quality, multidisciplinary programs which embrace child and family centered practice, evidence based practice and the Social Model of Health.
Monash Health is an impressive organisation of seven public hospitals, 21 community health sites, five aged care facilities, university affiliated international research and tertiary education. We provide healthcare for the entire lifespan from pre-birth to palliative care and all stages in between, and we have recently opened the new 230-bed Monash Children’s Hospital.
About the Role
The Paediatric Physiotherapist will be required to provide an efficient, high quality and comprehensive Physiotherapy service to children aged 0- 17.5 years and their families residing in the City of Greater Dandenong, City of Casey and Shire of Cardinia. You will function as a member of a dynamic multi-disciplinary team and will work closely with team members to promote an integrated and holistic service. The Paediatric Physiotherapist will need at least 4 years’ experience and at least 1 year of this in Paediatrics.
This position will require the Paediatric Physiotherapist to work in an outreach model of care as well as at the community health centre or in other community venues.
This position at times will be required to see children with a diagnosed disability or developmental delay
Services will be provided in line with the protocols of the organization and will reflect the Social Model of Health and Health Promotion philosophies.
What you need
- current registrations as a Physiotherapist with APRHA
- working with children’s check
- current driving licence
- Bachelor Degree in Physiotherapy or equivalent
- at least a years experience in working with Paediatric Clients
